In December 2011, Elite Surfacing Ltd was awarded accreditation by Ronacrete to supply hard landscaping, industrial flooring and concrete repairs. Trading for over 40 years, Ronacrete has established itself at the cutting edge of product development and performance innovation in its field, enhanced by industry-leading technical support. Ronacrete offers a specialist range of products for installation by hand-picked expert contractors.

The Ronacrete hard landscaping range comprises three systems: resin bonded surfacing, resin bound surfacing and a tree pit system. The resin bound aggregate system is ideal for decorative driveways, car parks, pathways and swimming pool surrounds.

Ronacrete also offers a complete industrial flooring solution, load bearing, durable and resistant to water, frost and chemical attack. Floors can be installed, repaired and maintained even in freezing temperatures.
While Ronacrete has also led the field in the repair, reinstatement and long-term protection of concrete and reinforced concrete since 1969, taking in numerous prestigious projects along the way.

As any contractor knows, implementing repairs or improvements to historical buildings is often fraught with difficulties. Which is why, in February 2012, the owners of Peckforton Castle in Cheshire called upon the experience and expertise of Elite Surfacing Ltd to lay 1000 square metres of red tarmac at the site using 60mm of base and 30 mm of red surface course.

The issue here was the National Trust's particular aversion to regular tarmac. A specialist contractor was required with the highly specialized skills to lay a surface that was highly sympathetic to the castle's distinguished surroundings.
The castle was originally built in the middle of the nineteenth century by John Tollemache, a wealthy Cheshire landowner and MP and was even referred to by George Gilbert Scott, architect of St. Pancras Station, as 'The largest and most carefully and learnedly executed Gothic mansion of the present'.

The castle was converted into a luxury hotel in 1988, hosting weddings, mediaeval banquets, private and corporate parties.

Elite Surfacing Ltd has won a major contract from Birse Civils to provide 350 square metres of resin-bound surfacing, using winter-grade resin, to provide the centrepiece and focal point of the newly refurbished Middleton Gardens in Greater Manchester.

The Middleton Gardens project, costing some £2 million in all, represents the latest phase of the town's regeneration plans incorporating a new transport exchange, the Middleton Arena, Tesco Extra and the return of Middleton Market to its original home at the heart of the town. The project has created more green space and seating to provide a real social hub and meeting point for residents and visitors alike.

Birse Civils is an operating division of Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering, providing a comprehensive range of civil engineering construction services throughout the UK and carrying out projects with a net worth of between £0.5 and £90 million for a broad spectrum of public service and private customers.

Elite Surfacing Ltd has announced that it has acquired an important new accreditation: HAPAS (Highways Agency Specification) conformance with Highway Works Clause 942 for the laying of thin surface courses.

The benefit of thin surfacing is principally one of cost. Because, even though thin surfacing uses high quality aggregate and modified bitumen and is therefore relatively expensive to produce compared with traditional HRA, it can actually deliver greater value for money when laid at thicknesses of just 20-30 mm.

As a result, in recent years, thin surfacing systems have replaced traditional hot rolled asphalt as the favoured material for all new construction and maintenance on motorways and trunk roads. While thin surfacing is also becoming increasingly popular for local roads in built-up areas due to its quieter surface and significantly reduced noise levels.
